[What Is Intimacy?] is an ongoing analoge series, exploring the intimate moments within Healy’s own same-sex relationship.
This snapshot based series acts not only as a personal love letter to her own lover, it also shares with the audience the raw, tender and vulnerable moments between two people and the deep connection that weaves them together. These moments are often overlooked or concealed due to the stigma and stereotypes that the queer community are often faced with, with in society.
Healy chose to not show the face of the subject directly within each image, to emphasise how it can often be unsafe to be open and true to your personal identity, whilst in a same-sex relationship, due to the hardships that one may be faced with when doing so.
